WHAT TO BRING
We can supply rods, reels, and waders with some advance notice. Our guides will have flies that are proven to be succesful in our area but be sure to bring your favourites along many of them are sure to work. You will need to bring your fishing equipment if you have it and other accessories to insure you are comfortable fishing.
  • Fly rod and reel. A 5 or 6 weight rod and reel loaded with a floating fly line will handle most of your fishing needs. A fast sink tip line can come in handy (but is not necessary) for fishing streamers. If you like fishing light weight rods you can have a blast on our creeks with a 2 or 3 weight rod.
  • Depending on time of year and current conditions you can expect to be fishing in any weather from just above freezing to 30 degrees celsius (86 degrees farenheit) so a variety of differant clothing will ensure comfort. Bring your rain jacket.
  • In summer the water can be quite comfortable so it is possible to wade wet but waders are recommended. Much of the water is wadeable with hippers but chest high waders are preferred. Ensure you have good felt soles on your wading boots as some of the streams can be quite slippery
  • Should you forget any of the essentials the Pass has two very good fly shops. Crowsnest Cafe and Fly Shop in Coleman and the Crowsnest Angler in Bellevue, provide all the odds and ends we never seem to have enough of.
