CARBONDALE RIVER
This is it. The sleeper of the Crowsnest Pass. This tributary of the Castle is fast becoming a serious challenge to the Livingstone's status as the premier cutthroat water in the area. Just a short distance out of the Pass the Carbondale's deep pools, riffles, and runs, to put it simply, are just fun to fish. At times one gets the impression that there is a cutt hiding behind every single rock in the creek. Thats saying alot as it is a high country freestone stream. The big pools can also hide those voracious char that have no problem chasing down a hooked 17" cutty. The Bull Trout. So be sure to have some large streamers handy for when you spot one. Another great feature of this little river is the abundance of Rocky Mountain Whitefish through out its length. They take mymphs readily, can put up quite a battle, and are definately worth while targetting.
